ALDO

Yolk, Simonetta Salacone School, Torpignattara, from June to July 2022, Rome, Italy

ALDO is a classroom on wheels reclaiming the streets of Rome.

ALDO consists of a large structure creating a shaded area and a series of mobile furniture with an unclear function. ALDO‘s shape can change over time, leaving the possibility of interpretation to the community of children and teachers. The definition of the space follows the flow of activities, transforming the classroom into a tool in the hands of educators.
The name ALDO comes in tribute to Aldo Van Eyck and his lifelong commitment to architecture and pedagogy.
